Trinity Prep Summer Programs
At Trinity Prep, we realize a student’s learning and growth do not stop during the summer months. We host academic, athletic, and enrichment sessions for middle and upper school students. Our “third semester” approach affords students from all schools the opportunity to extend their learning opportunities with Trinity Prep faculty, explore a passion, or brush up on existing skill sets.

Academic Programs
Christianity in Film

This course is open to sophomores and above. “Ethics: Christianity and Film” is a study of one of today's most popular art forms and how spiritual content can be discovered within. Students will explore the history and development of film as art and popular culture and learn to be better-informed consumers of movies. Among topics covered will be how Biblical material is dealt with in film, from the earliest days of movies until today; how both obvious and subtle spiritual issues are dealt with in movies; and how movies can be a springboard for discussion of today's large ethical and religious questions. Basic film terminology and topics related to film as an academic field will be studied, and students will choose a topic related to the course theme for a major project. This elective meets the ½ credit social science ethics and religion requirement for graduation.

Innovation and Design Concepts

Innovation and Design provides students with a foundation in design thinking and innovation and an introduction to engineering principles. Students will learn skills including documentation, project management, and agile methodologies, along with principles of various engineering disciplines, science explorations, and mathematical concepts. Projects, discussions, and presentations in the class allow students to have innovative solutions to real-world problems. Students are expected to integrate academics and technical skills to lead collaborative problem-solving projects. This course meets the .5 Computer Science graduation requirement.

Session One
This course combines face to face instruction with remote instruction. Students attend class on the Trinity Prep campus 6/3-6/7. After that, students have remote work to complete on Canvas through 6/14. This course is designed to increase the students’ personal fitness level through daily exercise and training, giving students the knowledge and desire to establish personal health and fitness programs, helping them realize that daily physical activity will increase their energy level and productivity, and providing lifetime fitness activities. The goal of this course is to provide participants an overall health and wellness awareness that will lead to behavior change. This course satisfies the graduation requirement.
Session Two

Social Media and Ethics

Social Media and Ethics (semester – grades 10-12) This course fulfills Social Science (ethics) ½ credit for graduation. This course provides students with an introduction to ethical theory as it applies to users and consumers of social media. Students will explore the possibilities, limitations, rhetoric, history, and ethical uses of social media through hands-on experience, case studies, timely readings,and class discussions. Students will demonstrate their learning through a series of collaborative and creative projects that integrate various social media platforms.

Summer Sharks Swim Program

Come join Trinity Prep Aquatics for Summer Sharks! This program is designed for children who are still learning the fundamentals and strokes of swimming and who love being in the water. Summer Sharks is available for swimmers ages 5 to 12 and encourages and develops passion for swimming in a safe and fun environment!
Summer Sharks is split into three groups. The introduction to swimming group focuses on the basics of floating, strokes, and increasing comfort in the water. The middle group centers around learning all four strokes, turns, and diving. The top group teaches all four strokes and refines new and existing technique.
Summer Sharks will be directed by members of the TPA staff and assisted by in-water volunteers who are swimmers from the TPA program or from Trinity Preparatory School. The members of TPA staff are lifeguard, CPR, and AED certified and the volunteers are experienced and accomplished swimmers. All of the staff and volunteers are looking forward to having a great summer at the pool!
2024 Summer Sharks runs June 4 to July 18 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm culminating in an end-of-summer swim meet at Trinity Prep. We encourage the swimmers to attend as many practices as they want to! All members of the Sharks program will receive a team t-shirt. The cost of the program for the whole summer is $200.

Coach Eric Schneider and the Trinity Prep Boys Basketball staff will lead and instruct the TPS Summer Basketball Camp. Campers will learn the fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, passing, and proper offensive and defensive footwork. While learning these important fundamentals, camp participants will engage in competition and games reinforcing learned techniques. Campers have fun while being coached to the meanings of discipline, hard work, and setting goals. Campers are grouped by grade and skill level. The staff, including current and former TPS Saints, lead instruction through drills and games to develop enthusiasm for the sport and a competitive spirit. Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt and a certificate of completion on the final day of camp.

Mini Saints Cheer Camp

Interested in cheerleading? Want to learn some cheer, stunt, and dance basics? Ready to cheer on your favorite sports team with a new chant or cheer? Check out our Mini Saints Cheer Camp! We are looking for athletes in grades K-6 who want to explore the sport of cheerleading. The camp is hosted by the Trinity Prep Varsity Cheerleaders and will cover the fundamentals of cheerleading - cheer, stunt and dance - as well as incorporate some fun cheerleading related arts and crafts projects into the mix. We will host a parent showcase on the final day to highlight all of the material learned and celebrate individual athlete accomplishments. Additionally, participants will be invited to participate in a halftime performance at Trinity Prep football game this fall (Date TBD). We hope you will join us for a week full of all things cheer!

This is a youth-centered strength and conditioning program offered at Trinity Preparatory School for ages 9-16. The program is centered on the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Model. The LTAD is endorsed by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). It focuses on age-specific training based on training age and chronological age. The training program will follow sound periodization models to promote long-term athletic development and decrease the chance of injury, and the severity of injury should one occur. Coach Meyers has coached at Trinity Prep for over 12 years. He is the co-head Girls' Weightlifting Coach and the assistant Boys' Weightlifting Coach. He has coached in strength and conditioning and weightlifting at the collegiate and high school level for over 23 years. He is a certified strength and conditioning coach by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS), the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association (SCCC), and is a Level Two Coach with USA Weightlifting. He also holds three level two coaching certifications with USA Track and Field.

There are many skills that are needed to become successful throughout middle school and beyond. Many of these skills are learned in the classroom along the way, but what about the skills needed for that work behind the scenes? Middle School Steps to Success is designed with those hidden skills in mind. During the course of the week, students will work on mastering effective study skills, organization, time management, keyboarding, document formatting, and even opening a combination lock!

Trinity Preparatory School is excited to offer the AFA Cyberpatriot introductory camp on Cybersecurity. This camp will be offered in separate morning and afternoon sessions to accommodate students. Students will be expected to bring their own PC based computer as we explore the concepts of virtual machines, securing Windows and Linux, and understanding ethical behavior with respect to running and operating computers. This camp is the best preparation for participating in the upcoming US Cyberpatriot competition season.

Trinity Preparatory School is proud to offer a summer intensive program in speech and debate. This is for grades 7-12. Our program will focus on the skills and techniques necessary for successful competition regardless of ability or level, with participants leaving prepared for their upcoming speech and debate season. Students may choose to work in speech or debate, choosing the event they plan on competing in the upcoming school year. Individual events students will leave with a piece ready for competition or ready to compete to elimination rounds in extemporaneous speaking. Debate students will learn skills such as card cutting, case construction, and how to research to garner the results they seek in competition season.
