Carolyn Lightsey '18 earns Girl Scout Gold Award

This past summer, Carolyn Lightsey '18 earned the Girl Scout Gold Award from the Girl Scouts of Citrus Council.

The Gold Award represents the highest achievement in Girl Scouting. For her project, Carolyn designed and taught a Women in Modern Art four-day workshop for elementary and middle school-aged children at the Cornell Fine Arts Museum at Rollins College. She based the art classes on the artwork of four female modern artists: Maya Lin, Kara Walker, Hadieh Shafie and Maria Magdalena Campos Pons.

Carolyn has been a Girl Scout since kindergarten and achieved the level of Ambassador, the highest rank in Girl Scouts.
