1-TO-1 TECHNOLOGY
All students in grades eight through twelve are required to have a laptop for use at school every day. Rising 8th graders or students who wish to purchase a new device should review all information located on this website.
Families are responsible for the maintenance of their laptops. While Trinity provides instructions and assistance for connecting your laptop to our wireless network, we do not provide software or hardware support. This site is available as a resource to families with up-to-date technical support information, drivers, downloads, etc. Families who choose to purchase a Lenovo bundle have the added benefit of Trinity Prep's student-supported help desk facilitating their warranty repairs on campus.
To assist families with the purchase of a laptop, and to ensure the device is robust enough to last for a minimum of three years, we have selected Lenovo and Apple as recommended options that are lightweight yet durable enough to withstand constant use. The devices are delivered to and owned by your family who is responsible for the maintenance and care of the device; however, we will arrange for pick-up by a local repair shop for all Lenovo computers, purchased through our vendor. If you plan to purchase a laptop from our recommended list, information is available at the links located below. Lenovo and Apple do not release new models until spring or early summer, consequently we recommend all families wait to purchase a machine until the end of the school year to ensure that any warranty does not lapse during the academic year.
Families may choose to bring a laptop not purchased from our recommended options that meets the minimum specifications which are available on this site. Students are welcome to bring a device such as an iPad or Kindle Fire for reading and viewing textbooks; however, these devices do not meet our minimum specifications and will not be adequate to perform all necessary class activities.
We encourage you to review the information found here, and if you have further questions, please contact our 1-to-1 Technology Support Coordinator, Carlos Cortes (cortesc@trinityprep.org, or 321-282-2504).
