This year, Madame Spallone's AP French students Sammy Miller and Robby Witten are piloting the new AP French Language and Culture with WE Service course.
For their global service project, the students decided to focus on poverty and its affects on education, and they reached out to SOPUDEP--a Haitian grassroots organization located in Port-au-Prince, and connected with founder and head of this organization Madame Réa Dol. They exchanged many emails in the target language to better understand the needs of the school, and proceeded to organize a French-themed bake sale and a school supply drive, which were very successful.
Sammy and Robby wish to thank all the parents, students, teachers and administrators who helped them with this project. There will be more projects and updates ahead!
