"This is really cool! I love it! Can we do this again?"
These were just a few things you could hear as you were walking by Lin Huang's Chinese I classroom. Her students were practicing Chinese calligraphy as part of her curriculum. Chinese calligraphy is the writing of Chinese characters as an art form, combining purely visual art and interpretation of the literary meaning.
Last year, Chinese was only an elective for juniors. But thanks to the generosity of an anonymous family donor, Trinity was able to offer it as a core language, starting as early as 8th grade. Trinity even has one section of Chinese II for our seniors.
Currently, TPS offers Spanish, French, Latin, and Chinese as core world languages and Ancient Greek as an upper school elective.
