Steps to Apply

Submit Application

• Parent Questionnaire: Parent/Guardian should complete the Parent Application in English. 
• Student Application: Applicant should complete the Student Application in English. It is expected that the applicant has an English proficiency level such that he or she will be able to attend class without additional support. Trinity Prep does NOT offer ESL instruction.

A non-refundable Admission Application fee of $200.00 is required.

Standardized Testing

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): All non-native English speaking international students seeking admission to Trinity Prep must earn an internet based score of 85 (computer based score of 213/paper based score of 570) or higher on the TOEFL. As a guide, the average TOEFL score for newly enrolled students is 100. The applicant’s family is responsible for individual registration. Please visit the TOEFL website for more information. Submit results to tpsadmissions@trinityprep.org.

Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) Preferred: All international applicants should take the SSAT as early as possible, preferably in November, December or January. The applicant’s family is responsible for individual registration. Please visit the SSAT website for more information. When registering, please select Trinity Prep (school code 101898) as a score recipient.

Interview

All international applicants must schedule an in-person interview or video conference once all application materials have been submitted. Please contact Lucy Carney, Admissions Coordinator, at tpsadmissions@trinityprep.org to arrange an interview. An interview with an Admissions Director will be the final step of the application process. The interview will not be conducted until receipt of the other application requirements.

Tuition

If an international student is accepted, receipt of the deposit and a signed contract is required before a Form I-20 is issued. International Tuition is $42,200.00 for the 2026-27 school year and Fees vary by grade. International students are NOT eligible for Tuition Assistance and are responsible for full annual tuition, plus all additional fees. Verification of funds is required.

International Acceptance, Enrollment Process, and Mandatory Documentation

If an international student is accepted, the Director of Admissions will inform the applicant via email. Email the following enrollment documentation to Victoria Johnston at johnstonv@trinityprep.org.

Enrollment Documents

Please send in a Zip File - with each item labeled. Cover letter of contents is helpful.

• A formal acceptance and enrollment contract signed and accepted by family
• An Emergency Medical Release form and other permission forms- signed in the student’s portal
• Proof of official U.S. residential address and intended adult hosts
• Proof of ability to pay tuition and other applicable living expenses for the duration of one academic year: certificates of deposit translated into English
• Passports/visas/permanent residency documentation are required of those adults with whom the student will reside (guardianship documentation required if student will not live with biological parents, and completed and cleared background checks through Florida’s Attorney General’s Office).
• Prospective Student Immunization record and Medical Records:
  • 5 doses of diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTP)
  • 4 doses of polio (5th dose required if 4th dose was administered prior to the 4th birthday)
  • 2 doses of measles
  • 1 dose of mumps
  • 1 dose of rubella
  • A series of 3 hepatitis-B
  • 2 doses of Varicella or proof of disease
  • Tdap booster completed prior to starting 7th grade
  • A combination of measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines may be given in place of the individual doses. Two of these are required. Depending on the applicant’s country of origin, the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta may require additional vaccinations; if so, they will be so advised at the time of application.
  • The report of the applicant’s physical examination, conducted within the last 12 months 
  • Proof of medical insurance coverage, valid in the United States, for the period of time that the applicant will be enrolled at Trinity Prep
  • Proof of ability to pay tuition and other applicable living expenses for the duration of one academic year: bank statements translated into English
  • Full tuition payment must be made by July 5.

Please be prepared to provide information regarding the student’s travel arrangements at the conclusion of the school year, if we are holding the student’s I-20 documents. I-20 Documents

When the Admission Office has received the signed contract, full deposit payment, the Emergency Medical Release form, and all other permission forms, the student will be officially enrolled. 

At that point, the Form I-20 will be issued as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This form must be taken to the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate, to apply for an F-1 visa. For additional information, please email Victoria Johnston at tpsadmissions@trinityprep.org.

Host Family

Trinity Prep is able provide host families though a certified 3rd party provider. Oversight of living arrangements by Trinity Prep will occur. Please contact Victoria Johnston,  Director of International Student Affairs via email johnstonv@trinnityprep.org for assistance with your host family search process. 

Guardianship documentation is required if a student will not live with biological parents. Trinity Prep will also complete background checks of the listed guardians via  Florida’s Attorney General’s Office. Trinity Prep may visit the home or ask the students guardians to campus  prior to a Form I-20 being issued.

After being accepted to Trinity Prep and submitting all International Enrollment Documents, students will receive a Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 to apply for a student visa. In order to properly prepare for your visa interview, please follow these steps: 

Check your I-20 or DS 2019

Be sure all the information on your form is correct. Read the instructions on the form and sign it. You are allowed to enter up to 30 days prior to your program start date. If you discover an error on the form, contact the Office of International Student & Scholar Services to discuss the situation. 

Pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee

After receiving your I-20 or DS-2019, pay the SEVIS fee. The Student and Exchange Visitor Program webpage will provide you with instructions on how to do so. Once paid, print two copies of the payment confirmation - one for the visa appointment and one for your own records.

Schedule a visa interview

It is best to apply for your student visa in your home country. Be sure to take your I-20 or DS-2019, passport, Trinity Prep acceptance letter and financial documentation to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Canadian students are not required to obtain a visa. Bermudian students only need a student visa if their stay in the U.S. will be longer than 180 days. The amount of time needed to obtain a visa varies by consular post. 

Attend your interview

If you are denied a visa, you have probably not sufficiently proven to the consular officer that you are entitled to student or scholar status. We strongly suggest that you contact the Office of International Student & Scholar Services if you are denied a visa so that we can assist you in your second application.

Keep in mind the following:

• Do NOT enter the U.S. on a visitor visa or under the Visa Waiver Program.

• Only use the I-20 or DS-2019 issued by Trinity Prep!

• The I-20 or DS-2019 is very important - DO NOT lose it!

New Student Orientation Attendance 

• Do I need to attend International Student Orientation if I have already gone to school in the U.S. before?

Yes, orientation is required for all students to attend in order to help better assimilate to life at TPS

• I am a US Citizen or have dual citizenship, but have lived a majority of my life outside of the U.S. do I need to attend International Student Orientation?

It is not required but highly recommended that you attend International Student Orientation. This will be a great opportunity for you to meet other students who have lived outside of the U.S. If you do attend you will be required to participate in all sessions.
