Athletic Hall of Fame

In order to recognize the outstanding athletes, coaches, and administrators in the history of the interscholastic program at Trinity Prep, the school established the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002. To be eligible for nomination to the Athletic Hall of Fame, candidates must have graduated from Trinity Prep a minimum of 10 years prior to selection.

Lauren Brown Abbas '03

Lauren Brown Abbas earned a total of 13 varsity letters as a member of the volleyball, cross country, soccer, and softball teams and was the recipient of the George Austin Memorial Award in 2002, the Scholar-Athlete Award in 2003, the Letterwoman of the Year Award in 2003, and the Orlando Downtown Athletic Club Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award in 2003. She was selected to the FHSAA Academic All-State Team in 2003. Continue reading

John Adair '72

John Adair earned a total of 13 varsity letters as a member of the cross-country, track and field, swimming, soccer, and baseball teams. John was Trinity Prep’s first state champion in ANY sport. Continue reading

 

Jon Arost

Jon earned a total of six varsity letters as a member of our soccer and golf teams. He was selected to the All-District soccer team and All-County soccer team in 1999, 2000, and 2001. Continue reading

George Austin

George Austin served as Trinity Prep's boys and girls cross-country and track coach from 1971 to 1983 During Coach Austin's tenure he led Trinity Prep's teams to seven state championships and six state runner-up finishes. In addition, 38 girls and 23 boys won individual state titles in track and field. Continue reading

 

Daniel Bachrach '89

Daniel Bachrach was a three-year starter on the varsity soccer team, playing right wing and center midfielder. A prolific scorer, Dan holds the school record for most goals scored in a career with 41 and was selected to the All-Conference team in 1988 and 1989. Continue reading

 

Dennis Bluge

Dennis Bluge founded Trinity Prep’s swimming program. He served as head boys and girls swim coach from 1972-1987. During Coach Bluge's tenure as swim coach, the boys compiled a 123-38-1 record and three district titles. The girls team compiled a 78-87-2 record. Continue reading

Krista Kranze Bump '90

Krista Kranze Bump was a three-sport standout on the volleyball, softball, and track teams, earning eight varsity letters. In volleyball, Krista set the school record in 1988 for most kills in a season with 69 and was known for her jump serving. Continue reading

 

Brian Butler '83
Brian Butler earned a total of 11 varsity letters as a member of the football, basketball, baseball, and track teams. Brian was a three-year starter as a linebacker and running back in football, earning All-State in 1981 and 1982, All-County in 1982, and All-Conference in 1980, 1981, and 1982. Continue reading

Gregory R. Chandler was a member of the track and football teams. Greg was a four-year letterman in track, a four-time state champion in the high hurdles, and the state champion in the low hurdles as a freshman. Continue reading

Lawrence Cleveland '73

Lawrence Cleveland was a two-year letterman in football, basketball, baseball, and track. Lawrence's greatest achievements came on the football field. He was selected as an All-County and All-State athlete in 1972 and 1973. Continue reading

Andrew Cox '05

Andrew Cox earned a total of 10 varsity letters as a member of our football, basketball, and baseball teams. Playing multiple positions in football, including guard, defensive end, and linebacker (named to Third Team All-State as a freshman), Andrew became the quarterback in his senior year. Stephen Curley '05

Stephen earned a total of 12 varsity letters as a member of our cross-country and track and field teams. He was selected as an All-County cross-country runner from 2003 to 2005 and as an All-County track and field runner in 2004-05. Continue reading

Michael Curran '84

Michael Curran was a four-year letterman in baseball and a three-year starter. He was selected as co-captain his junior year and captain during his senior year, and he helped lead the team to district championships in 1983 and 1984. Continue reading

Anthony Denicole

Anthony Denicole served as Trinity Prep’s baseball coach from 1974 to 1995. During Coach Denicole’s 21-year tenure as baseball coach, the baseball teams compiled a 253-198 record, winning eight district titles and two regional titles. Continue reading

Chris Donahue graduated from Trinity Prep in 1986. During three of his hour years in high school, he was a member of the swim team under the leadership of Dennis Bluge, including as captain of the team for two years. Continue reading

Shellie Elliott '91

Shellie Elliott was a three-sport standout in football, soccer, and baseball, earning 11 varsity letters. Shellie was a three-year starter for the football team as a running back and defensive back, earning All-State, All-County, and All-Conference honors in 1990. Continue reading

Sally Flynn

Sally Flynn served as Trinity Prep’s girls varsity tennis coach from 1984 to 2008. During Coach Flynn’s 25-year tenure, her teams compiled a 316-72 record, winning 13 district championships and seven Region Championships, and making 11 appearances at the state tennis tournament. Continue reading

Andrea Georoff '01
Andrea Georoff was a member of the varsity swimming team for three years, leading the team to three district championships and three state runner-up finishes. In 1998, she was the individual state champion in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, and she was a member of the state champion 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams. Continue reading

Lawrence Golomb graduated from Trinity Prep in 1989 with letters in tennis every year from 1984 to 1989.  He was on the varsity tennis team as a 7th grader and played line five his first year. Continue reading

Katie Gordon '02

Katie earned a total of six varsity letters as a member of our swimming and diving team. She was named team captain in her senior year. Katie was selected First Team All-County eight times beginning in eighth grade in three different races (500-yard freestyle, 400-yard freestyle, and 200-yard medley relay). Continue reading

Chris Granville '87

Chris Granville was a four-year letterman in baseball and two-year letterman in basketball. Chris was a catcher and played 82 consecutive games during his career at Trinity Prep. He was a two-time All-County winner and was named to the All-State team in his senior year. Continue reading

Robert Greenlee was a three-sport standout in football, basketball, and track and field, earning eight varsity letters. Robert (Bob) was a three-year starter for the football team as defensive end and center, earning All-State, All-County, and All-Conference honors in 1991. Continue reading

 

Mark Hanna ‘72

Mark Hanna was a four-sport letterman in football, soccer, baseball, and track. In football, Mark averaged 31.7 yards per reception, scored 12 touchdowns, and booted 43 extra points in his senior season. Continue reading

AJ Hewitt '07

AJ Hewitt, who graduated from Trinity Prep in 2007, lettered in football for four years and in basketball for three years. On the football team, he was captain for two years and received an honorable mention on the All-State squad as a senior. Continue reading

 

Shannon McNulty Hardington ’82

Shannon McNulty Hardington was a member of the cross-country and track teams. Shannon earned nine varsity letters at Trinity Prep. In cross-country, she helped Trinity Prep win state championships in 1978 and 1979. Shannon was the team MVP five times. Continue reading

Bruce Harris '86

Bruce Harris was a four-year letterman in football on both offense and defense, and he was named to the All-State offensive team as a fullback and All-State defensive team as a linebacker in 1985. He was selected to the All-County Team in 1985 and All-Conference Team in 1983, 1984, and 1985. Continue reading

Karrie Danhof Hendrick '90

Karrie Danhof Hendrick was a three-year starter for both the volleyball and softball teams and earned six varsity letters. As an outside hitter in volleyball, she was named to the All-Conference, All-County, and All-State teams for three consecutive years. Upon graduation, Karrie held the career volleyball records for most digs (416), serving aces (168), and service points (547). Continue reading

Hank earned a total of eight varsity letters as a member of the baseball and football teams. He played a variety of positions in both sports: catcher, safety, running back, receiver, linebacker, kickoff, punt returner, and long snapper. Continue Reading

Mirjana Bosevska Huddleston '99Mirjana earned a total of four varsity letters as a member of the swimming team. She set four school records, all of which still stand today: 200 individual medley, 500 freestyle, 200 freestyle relay, and 400 freestyle relay. Continue reading

Amanda Burson Jayakeerthi was a five-year member of the softball team. Amanda was the starting pitcher on the varsity softball team from grades 8-12 and helped lead her teams to a state runner-up in 1996 and state championships in 1998 and 2000. Continue reading

Hank Lebioda, who graduated from Trinity Prep in 2012, earned six varsity letters for golf and two for baseball during his seven years at the school. Aimee Nocero Lewis was a member of the girls varsity tennis team from 1984-1989, winning the individual #3 singles district championship in 1985 and team district championships in 1986 and 1989. Marie Bernadette Luse was a member of Trinity Prep’s inaugural girls golf team in 1997. A three-year starter, she was named to the All-County Team in 1998 and 1999, selected as the team’s most valuable player in 1997, 1998, and 1999, won the individual district title as a junior, and went on to compete for the state championship. Erin Kirkwood Nauman earned a total of 12 varsity letters as a member of the volleyball, basketball, and softball teams and was the 2004 Female Letterman of the Year. Alice Reen '83

Alice Reen graduated from Trinity Prep in 1983. She was an undefeated singles and doubles tennis player for three years and co-captained the tennis team to a 34-0 record. The 1982 tennis team, ranked fourth in the state, was the first Central Florida team to win honors in state competition. She won the Central Florida Sports Hall of Fam Award for Outstanding Tennis Player and was named MVP. She also ran on the varsity cross country team. Continue reading

Sam earned a total of four varsity letters as a member of our golf team. He was selected to the All-State Team all four of his years on the golf team, from 2003 to 2006. Norbert Seals earned a total of nine varsity letters as a member of the football, basketball, and track teams. He was a three-year starter in football, earning All-County and All-State honors in 1975 and 1976. Continue reading

Sarah Hajec Secoy '00

Sarah Hajec Secoy was a four-year starter on the varsity softball team from 1997-2000 and helped lead her team to state championships in 1998 and 2000, driving in the winning run in 2000. Mike Spatola coached basketball, baseball, and football and taught history, geography, and physical education at Trinity Prep from 1977 to 1987. He held the position of Trinity’s athletic director from 1984 to 1987. Continue reading

Tony Stevens earned ten varsity letters as a member of the football, basketball, soccer, baseball, and track teams. On many occasions, Tony competed simultaneously in baseball and track. Continue reading

 

Anne Elliott Storms '94

Anne Elliott Storms was a member of the volleyball and softball teams, earning seven varsity letters. Anne was a three-year starter in volleyball, setting school records for most digs in a season with 206, most digs in a career with 464, and most assists in a career with 341. Continue reading

Gerald Sutton was a four-year letterman in football and track. As a member of the the track team, Gerald was the state champion for the 330-yard intermediate hurdles in 1980, 1981, and 1982. Continue reading

Christy Watkins Swartzman '99
Christy Watkins Swartzman was a member of the varsity swimming team for five years, leading the team to three district championships and two state runner-up finishes. She was the 1997 and 1998 individual state champion in the 100 backstroke and the 1998 individual state champion in the 100 butterfly. Continue reading

Trae Terry '98
Trae Terry was the starting first baseman on the varsity softball team for five years and helped lead the team to a state championship in 1998 and a state runner-op finish in 1996. She holds the school records for most doubles in a career (48) and most triples in a career (19). Continue reading

 

Ryan Truchelut '04

Ryan Truchelut graduated from Trinity Prep in 2004. He lettered in cross country every year from 1998 to 2003 and in track from 1999 to 2004. During his high school athletic career, he was state champion in 4x800m relay in 2002 and 2003; state runner-up in 2004; a regional champion every year from 2002 to 2004; and district champion from 2002 to 2004. Susie Van der Veer Parrish '98

Susie Van der Veer Parrish ’98 was a starter on the varsity softball team and had the highest batting average (.480), most hits (223), most runs batted in (240), and single season records for RBI's (60) and batting average (.645). Susie was selected as the MVP in 1996 and best defensive player in 1996, 1997, and 1998, and helped lead the team to a state championship in 1998 and a state runner-up finish in 1996. Whit Watson was a four-year starter on the varsity baseball team from 1986-1989 and ran cross-country his senior year. As a member of the baseball team, he earned the Coach’s Award in 1988 and was named to the All-Conference team in 1989. Continue reading

 

Rachel Weightman '88

Rachel Weightman was a five-year letterman in swimming. Rachel earned All-American status 17 times during her high school career. Rachel set school records in the 100, 200, and 500 freestyle and records in four relay events. Continue reading

Jay Wettach was a six-year starting guard on the varsity basketball team from 1978 to 1984 and a member of the football team his senior year. He was selected to the All-State basketball team in 1983 and 1984 and led the basketball team in scoring his sophomore, junior, and senior years. Continue reading

 

Heather White '10
Heather White, who graduated from Trinity Prep in 2010, lettered in softball for five years and bowling for one year. Heather and the team were the district and regional champions in 2007, going on to win the 3A State Championship. She pitched six straight shutouts to clinch the title. Continue reading

Corey Whiting graduated from Trinity Prep in 2003 with letters in baseball for all four years of high school. Continue reading

 

Eric Wilbur '03
Eric Wilbur earned a total of 13 varsity letters as a member of the football, soccer, track, and baseball teams. Playing multiple positions in football, Eric was a four-year starter. During his senior year, he averaged 48 yards a punt, was 11 for 14 in field goal attempts, had 87 tackles, four interceptions and three forced fumbles. Continue reading

 

John T. Willett '78
John T. Willett was a member of the football, basketball, track, and wrestling teams. J.T. earned four varsity letters in football including one as a 7th grader, playing on the varsity team. As an offensive tackle, he was a key factor in opening holes for the running backs, and as defensive tackle, he took great pleasure in shutting down the opponents’ running game and sacking the quarterback. Mary earned a total of five varsity letters as a member of our track and field team. She won a district championship each year from 1977 to 1980 (mile relay twice, 880 medley relay, 110 hurdles, 330 hurdles twice, 440 relay twice, and long jump). Continue reading

Jennifer Flynn Zell was a member of the diving and tennis teams. Jennifer earned six varsity letters in tennis and was the district champion in the number-two singles position and number-one doubles position her senior year. Continue reading
