Brian Butler '83
Brian Butler earned a total of 11 varsity letters as a member of the football, basketball, baseball, and track teams.
Brian was a three-year starter as a linebacker and running back in football, earning All-State in 1981 and 1982, All-County in 1982, and All-Conference in 1980, 1981, and 1982. He was Trinity Prep's first recipient of the Orlando Sentinel Golden Helmet Award in 1982 and, as the team's most valuable player in 1982, he finished the season with a 7.3 yards per carry average and was the leading tackler on defense.
Brian was a versatile student-athlete who, in addition to starring for the football team, earned three varsity letters in basketball, two in baseball, and three in track. He was a National Merit Scholarship Commended Scholar. He continued his athletic achievements at Brown University as a running back, where he earned three varsity letters. As a member of the freshman team, he was selected as offensive player of the year and led the team in scoring.
