Hank Hornsby '99

Hank earned a total of eight varsity letters as a member of the baseball and football teams. He played a variety of positions in both sports: catcher, safety, running back, receiver, linebacker, kickoff, punt returner, and long snapper. As a four-year starter on the baseball team, Hank was the team MVP his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons, All-County and All-Conference his junior and senior seasons, 2A District 10 Florida Athletic Coaches Association Player of the Year as a junior, and an honorable mention All-State team selection. On the football team, Hank was Honorable Mention All-County and All-Conference his sophomore season and winner of the Steve Phillips football award.

Hank was the Trinity Varsity Club Male Athlete of the Year and a Downtown Athletic Club of Orlando Scholar Athlete of the Year finalist. He was also the recipient of the George Austin Memorial Scholarship Award for Sportsmanship and the Joseph Braddy Sports Award.

After graduation, Hank continued his athletic career as a catcher at Wake Forest University and Emory University. He was a member of the 2001 ACC Championship baseball team and captain of the 2003 Emory University Division III College World Series team that finished 5th in the nation. He also received recognition as a member of the Division III Baseball ALL South Academic Team while at Emory.
