Lauren Brown Abbas '03

Lauren Brown Abbas earned a total of 13 varsity letters as a member of the volleyball, cross country, soccer, and softball teams and was the recipient of the George Austin Memorial Award in 2002, the Scholar-Athlete Award in 2003, the Letterwoman of the Year Award in 2003, and the Orlando Downtown Athletic Club Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award in 2003. She was selected to the FHSAA Academic All-State Team in 2003.

As a five-year starter and captain on the varsity softball team, Lauren helped lead the team to a state championship in 2000 and to five consecutive district championships from 1999 to 2003. She was selected to the All-State team in 1999 through 2003 and the All-County Team in 1999, 2000, 2002, and 2003. She was the 2002 FACA district Player of the Year and was named to the 2003 National Fastpitch Coaches Association High School All-Region team. Lauren finished her softball career at Trinity Prep with a .427 batting average and holds the season record for at-bats with 128 and triples with 11. She was also a five-year starter and captain on the soccer team, earning All-County honors in 1999 and 2000.

Lauren continued her athletic career in softball at Harvard University, where she earned four varsity letters, was selected to the All-Ivy Team in 2007, set the single season record for runs scored with 39 in 2007, and was named the best offensive player in 2006.
