Mackenzie Dickey Jellum '01
Mackenzie Dickey Jellum earned a total of seven varsity letters as a member of our cross-country and soccer teams. She was a member of three district championship teams in cross- country (1998-2000), won an individual state championship (1998) and was selected to three All-County teams (1997-1999). She was also named most valuable athlete in 1998 and 2000. As the center midfielder on our soccer team, Mackenzie was a starter for four years. She was selected to four All-County teams (1998-2001), was named Florida Athletic Coaches Association Player of the Year (2000) and was a member of the 2001 All-State team. Mackenzie was named offensive player of the year as a freshman, most valuable player as a sophomore, and team captain her senior year.
Mackenzie continued her athletic career at The College of the Holy Cross, where she played soccer in 2001 and 2002. Her soccer career was cut short due to an injury. However, she began to pursue a cycling career. From 2002 to 2005 she was a Category 1 racer and was a professional cyclist from 2005 to 2007.
