Mike Villanueva '95

Mike Villanueva earned varsity letters in football, basketball, soccer, and track. Mike was a versatile athlete who excelled in every sport he played. In football, he played running back, wide receiver, and defensive back. Mike was the 1993 recipient of the Orlando Sentinel Golden Helmet Award and earned All-State, All-County, and All-District honors as a junior and a senior; he was the leading rusher and receiver on the team. As a junior, Mike was a member of the basketball team and earned All-Conference honors. In his senior year, he was a member of the soccer team and earned All-Conference, All-County and All-State honors. In track, Mike ran the 100-meter and 200-meter dash, was a member of the 4x100 relay, and threw the discus. He was the district champion in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash. In 1995, Mike set school records for the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.9 seconds and the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.6 seconds. Mike earned All-County and All-State recognition as a junior and senior in track. Mike continued his athletic career in college, playing football for Abilene Christian University.
