Thad L. McNulty '76
Thad L. McNulty was a member of the basketball, cross-country, and track teams. Thad earned 12 varsity letters at Trinity Prep. In cross-country, Thad won the individual Class 1A state championship as a senior and was a member of the All-County team three times. As a track athlete, he was the state champion in the mile in both his junior and senior years. Thad set a state record in the mile in 1976, with a time of 4:20.2. He also set the school record in the half-mile, mile, and two-mile. Trinity Prep named him scholar-athlete of the year in 1975.
Thad continued his running career at Harvard, earning 12 varsity letters in cross-country, indoor track, and outdoor track. He was the captain of both the cross-country and track teams. Thad achieved All-American status in 1979 in the two-mile relay. He was the Ivy champion in the 1,000-meter race in 1979 and the 800-meter race in 1980. Thad was a four-time member of the All-Ivy team. He was also a member of the two-mile relay team which won the Millrose Games in 1980, breaking a seventeen-year meet record.
