Whit Watson '89
Whit Watson was a four-year starter on the varsity baseball team from 1986-1989 and ran cross-country his senior year. As a member of the baseball team, he earned the Coach’s Award in 1988 and was named to the All-Conference team in 1989. He was the 1988 recipient of the Trinity Prep Scholar-Athlete Award and the 1989 cross-country senior award. Whit attended Cornell University, was a member of their fall baseball team in 1989, and began his broadcasting career at WVBR-FM in Ithaca, New York. Upon graduation from Cornell, Whit served as a reporter and producer for the Orlando Magic from 1993 to 1997, followed by a six-year stint as anchor, columnist, and host at ESPN. In 2003, he returned to Florida to serve as anchor, play-by-play announcer, writer, and host at Sun Sports and FSN Florida, where he was a three-time Emmy award winner as a sports host and writer. In 2010, Whit took his talents to the Golf Channel as an anchor and reporter.
