Julia Hamula Radosz '02

Julia Radosz’s operatic career has spanned two continents, with performances throughout the United States as well as in Paris, Madrid, Vienna, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Slovakia. She has been praised for her “illustrious and flowing voice” and for “her astonishing performance, brilliant soprano, and thrilling embellishments” by publications including The New York Times, Broadway World, and the Kansas City Metropolis.

Her impressive repertoire includes leading roles in “Madama Butterfly,” “Don Giovanni” (with Opera Orlando), “Tales of Hoffmann,” “La Traviata,” “Susannah,” and “Die Fledermaus,” as well as in world premieres of contemporary operas and in concerts featuring music by Liszt, Strauss, Puccini, Verdi, and other noted composers. She holds a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from Westminster Choir College and a master’s in opera performance from the University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Radosz has garnered numerous awards, including winning the Jenny Lind Competition and the Bel Canto Award at the Orpheus Competition. In addition to singing, she has been teaching voice for over 15 years and runs vocal technique programs for other singers. Her work has been ground-breaking, and she is heading a study on the effects of device-assisted respiratory muscle training.

Ms. Radosz lives in Bratislava, Slovakia with her husband, Martin Mazik, whom she met while he was conducting and she was singing in “La Boheme” for Wichita Grand Opera. Two of her nieces also attended Trinity: Audrey and Lauren McAnally.
