Theater
Our theater program creates many opportunities both locally and globally for students to perform onstage or work behind the scenes on lighting, sound, sets or costuming. Trinity Prep's middle and upper school divisions participate in theater throughout the year, including an all-school musical in the spring. We have been repeatedly invited to be part of the American High School Theater Festival that performs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland based on the quality of our program. Twenty-four students traveled to Edinburgh in the summer of 2016 to once again represent Trinity Prep and the United States.
Our theater program proudly puts on six to eight productions each year, using our top-notch main stage and black box theater facilities on campus. Our thespian troupe is very busy with district and state festivals, as well as partnering with Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida for performance opportunities.
Productions typically include a middle school play or musical, an upper school play each semester, all-school musical, an every-other-year summer intensive, and a one-act play for competition at District Thespians. There are also opportunities for students to direct during their junior or senior years. Backstage positions for all shows include student stage managers, crew members, lighting, sound and spotlight operators.
Here I am living my dreams, and I can really trace it back to the support I got from Trinity Prep and the theater department there."
