Extracurricular Programs

This course is open to sophomores and above. “Ethics: Christianity and Film” is a study of one of today's most popular art forms and how spiritual content can be discovered within. Students will explore the history and development of film as art and popular culture and learn to be better-informed consumers of movies. Among topics covered will be how Biblical material is dealt with in film, from the earliest days of movies until today; how both obvious and subtle spiritual issues are dealt with in movies; and how movies can be a springboard for discussion of today's large ethical and religious questions. Basic film terminology and topics related to film as an academic field will be studied, and students will choose a topic related to the course theme for a major project. This elective meets the ½ credit social science ethics and religion requirement for graduation.

Daily attendance is expected for this academic credit course.

Grades 9-12

This course will cover the basics of Euclidean geometry, including lines, planes, angles, triangles, polygons, circles, area, volume, similarity, congruence, geometric inequalities, constructions, transformation, and logic. Students will also gain an understanding of deductive methods of reasoning and practice critical thinking skills through the study of geometric proofs.

Prerequisites:
B+ or higher in Honors Algebra I and permission of the current mathematics teacher/department chair.
Must be a rising grade 8 or 9 student during the upcoming school year.

Daily attendance is expected for this academic credit course.

Grades 7-8

Innovation and Design provides students with a foundation in design thinking and innovation and an introduction to engineering principles. Students will learn skills including documentation, project management, and agile methodologies, along with principles of various engineering disciplines, science explorations, and mathematical concepts. Projects, discussions, and presentations in the class allow students to have innovative solutions to real-world problems. Students are expected to integrate academics and technical skills to lead collaborative problem-solving projects. This course meets the Computer Science graduation requirement.

Daily attendance is expected for this academic credit course.

Grades 8-12

This course is two weeks of face to face instruction. This course is designed to increase the students’ personal fitness level through daily exercise and training, giving students the knowledge and desire to establish personal health and fitness programs, helping them realize that daily physical activity will increase their energy level and productivity, and providing lifetime fitness activities. The goal of this course is to provide participants an overall health and wellness awareness that will lead to behavior change. This course satisfies the graduation requirement.

Daily attendance is expected for this academic credit course.

Grade 8-12

This course is open to sophomores and above. This course fulfills Social Science (ethics) ½ credit for graduation. This course provides students with an introduction to ethical theory as it applies to users and consumers of social media. Students will explore the possibilities, limitations, rhetoric, history, and ethical uses of social media through hands-on experience, case studies, timely readings, and class discussions. Students will demonstrate their learning through a series of collaborative and creative projects that integrate various social media platforms.

Daily attendance is expected for this academic credit course.

Grade 9-12

Coach Mike Davis and the Trinity Prep Boys Basketball staff will lead and instruct the TPS Summer Basketball Camp.

Beginner/Intermediate Session:
Our Beginner/Intermediate sessions are designed for new athletes or middle school students who have not yet played on a competitive team. All skill levels are welcome! Players will learn fundamental basketball. This session focuses on building confidence, understanding the game, and improving basic skills in a fun, supportive environment—perfect for athletes still learning or growing their foundation in basketball.

Elite/Advanced Session:
Our Elite/Advanced sessions are intended for athletes who have played on a high-level team (school team, AAU team, etc.) or for players seeking high-level competition and faster-paced training. This session includes all core basketball skills but emphasizes advanced techniques, strategic gameplay, and drills that demand greater experience and consistency. It’s best suited for those who are ready to challenge themselves and take their game to the next level.

If an athlete attends a session and coaches determine that the player would benefit more from a different level, adjustments will be made to ensure the athlete is placed in the most appropriate group for their development and success as needed.

Grades 3-9 | Beginner

Grades 5-9 | Elite/Advanced

Coach Daniel Munsey will lead and instruct the TPS Summer Basketball Camp. Campers will learn the fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, passing, and proper offensive and defensive footwork. While learning these important fundamentals, camp participants will engage in competition and games, reinforcing learned techniques. Campers have fun while being coached on the meanings of discipline, hard work, and setting goals. Campers are grouped by grade and skill level. Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt and a certificate of completion on the final day of camp.

Grades 3-12

Campers will learn the fundamentals of passing, receiving, flag-pulling, and proper offensive and defensive route running. While learning these important fundamentals, camp participants will engage in competition and games reinforcing learned techniques. Campers have fun while being coached to the meanings of discipline, hard work, and setting goals. Campers are grouped by grade and skill level.

Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt and a certificate of completion on the final day of camp.

Grades 3-12

Interested in cheerleading? Want to learn some cheer, stunt, and dance basics? Ready to cheer on your favorite sports team with a new chant or cheer? Check out our Mini Saints Cheer Camp! We are looking for athletes in grades K-6 who want to explore the sport of cheerleading. The camp is hosted by the Trinity Prep Varsity Cheerleaders and will cover the fundamentals of cheerleading - cheer, stunt and dance - as well as incorporate some fun cheerleading related arts and crafts projects into the mix. We will host a parent showcase on the final day to highlight all of the material learned and celebrate individual athlete accomplishments. Additionally, participants will be invited to participate in a halftime performance at Trinity Prep football game this fall (Date TBD). We hope you will join us for a week full of all things cheer!

Grades Kindergarten-5

Join us for the 2026 Trinity Prep Volleyball Summer Camp, hosted by Head Coach Tycee Bates, with years of coaching experience and a successful college volleyball career.

Beginner/Intermediate Session (12-3 PM)
Our Beginner/Intermediate sessions are designed for new athletes or middle school students who have not yet played on a Junior Varsity or Varsity team. All skill levels are welcome! Players will learn fundamental volleyball techniques, including serving, setting, defense, and hitting, and develop their Volleyball IQ. This session focuses on building confidence, understanding the game, and improving basic skills in a fun, supportive environment—perfect for athletes still learning or growing their foundation in volleyball.

Elite/Advanced Session (8-11 AM)
Our Elite/Advanced sessions are intended for athletes who have played on a JV or Varsity team, or for players seeking high-level competition and faster-paced training. This session includes all core volleyball skills but emphasizes advanced techniques, strategic gameplay, and drills that demand greater experience and consistency. It’s best suited for high school athletes or rising freshmen who are ready to challenge themselves and take their game to the next level.

If an athlete attends a session and coaches determine that the player would benefit more from a different level, adjustments will be made to ensure the athlete is placed in the most appropriate group for their development and success as needed.

Grades 5-7 | Beginner/Intermediate

Grades 8-12 | Elite/Advanced

Prerequisites:

• Must be a 6th-grade student for the 2026-27 academic year. 

This course is offered to rising sixth grade students prior to taking Math Concepts. This course will offer a review of operations, using fractions, decimals, integers and order of operations. It is designed to help students refresh previous concepts so that they can enter sixth grade with confidence, with the skills necessary for a successful year.

Prerequisites:

• Must be either a 7th-grade or an 8th-grade student for the 2026-27 academic year.

This course is offered before taking Pre-Algebra. Students will review concepts covered in the previous year in mathematics, enabling them to enter Pre-Algebra confident and ready to apply and build upon their prior knowledge, deepen their conceptual understanding, grow as problem solvers, and solidify a strong foundation for continued mathematical learning.

Prerequisites:

• Must be either a 7th-grade or an 8th-grade student for the 2025-2026 academic year. 

This course is offered prior to taking Algebra I. Students will review concepts covered in Pre-Algebra, allowing them to enter Algebra I feeling confident and ready to apply and build upon their prior knowledge, deepen their conceptual understanding, grow as problem solvers, and solidify a strong foundation for continued mathematical learning.

Grade 5-9

Prerequisites:

• Must be either a 6th-grade, 7th-grade, or 8th-grade student for the 2026-27 academic year. 

There are many skills that are needed to become successful throughout middle school and beyond. Many of these skills are learned in the classroom along the way, but what about the skills needed for that work behind the scenes? Middle School Steps to Success is designed with those hidden skills in mind. During the course of the week, students will work on mastering effective study skills, organization, time management, keyboarding, document formatting, and even opening a combination lock!

Trinity Preparatory School is proud to offer a summer intensive program in speech and debate. This is for grades 7-12. Our program will focus on the skills and techniques necessary for successful competition regardless of ability or level, with participants leaving prepared for their upcoming speech and debate season. Students may choose to work in speech or debate, choosing the event they plan on competing in the upcoming school year. Individual events students will leave with a piece ready for competition or ready to compete to elimination rounds in extemporaneous speaking. Debate students will learn skills such as card cutting, case construction, and how to research to garner the results they seek in competition season.

Calling all rising 7th and 8th graders who want to perfect their reading skills and learn new strategies while completing their summer reading!

During this weeklong camp, join Dr. Miller as we analyze text, gain insight into the author’s purpose, and make meaningful connections with the assigned novels.

This camp is sure to be a successful springboard for Middle School English!

Get a head start on your middle school science journey! This fun, hands-on prep course is specifically designed for incoming 6th graders entering Trinity Prep. Led by experienced instructors, campers will be introduced to the core concepts and laboratory skills necessary for success in 6th-grade science. We will focus on:

• Nature of Science: Understanding how to form hypotheses, design experiments, and analyze data
• Lab Safety & Procedures: Learning essential safety rules and proper use of equipment, preparing students for the lab environment. 
• Key Content Preview: Exploring fundamental topics such as measurements, matter, and the structure of an atom to build a strong foundational vocabulary. 

Campers will participate in engaging, project-based activities that foster critical thinking and teamwork, ensuring a confident and seamless transition into the rigor and excitement of Trinity Prep's Middle School Science curriculum.

Designed for kids in grades K-5, this action-packed camp offers fun in the pool, literacy and arts and crafts activities.. Our experienced and enthusiastic Trinity Prep faculty will focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, and building confidence while ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Join us for a week of unforgettable memories and active fun!

Grade K-5 (Current Grade Level)

Come join Trinity Prep Aquatics (TPA) for Summer Sharks! This program is designed for children who are expanding on the fundamentals and techniques of swimming and who love being in the water. Summer Sharks is available for swimmers ages 5 to 12 and encourages and develops passion for swimming in a safe and fun environment! This is not a learn to swim program.

Swim meet #1 is 6/20
Swim meet #2 is 7/11 and is the "Championship" meet and end-of-season party.

Both swim meets will include swimmers from all three sessions.

Summer Sharks are split into three groups.

Mako Sharks - Our youngest swimmers will work on the basics of freestyle and backstroke. Our first few weeks we will be in the water for approximately 30 minutes and build from there.

Tiger Sharks - Our more advanced swimmers have basic freestyle skills and knowledge of other strokes. They are comfortable in the water and kick/swim repeated laps.

Hammerhead Sharks - Swimmers in this group have proficiency in all four strokes and are looking to improve those skills over the summer.

Summer Sharks will be directed by members of the TPA staff and assisted by in-water volunteers who are swimmers from the TPA program or from Trinity Preparatory School. The members of TPA staff are lifeguard, CPR, and AED certified and the volunteers are experienced and accomplished swimmers. All of the staff and volunteers are looking forward to having a great summer at the pool!
